The air channel lifts dust, chaff and light impurities out of the falling grain stream with an adjustable air current.

The air channel passes a horizontal air current through a free-falling curtain of grain. Dust, chaff, straw fragments and empty kernels are lighter than the grain, so they are carried away and settle in the expansion chamber, while clean grain continues straight to the bottom outlet.
Air volume is set with a damper on the channel, so the same machine can be tuned separately for wheat, corn and pulses. Capacity and air requirement are given in the model table.
The air channel normally works together with the vibro separator and the dry stoner, and passes the dust load of the line to a cyclone or filter.
