The blower hammer mill combines hammer grinding with an integrated blower that conveys the product pneumatically, saving a separate fan and conveyor.

The blower hammer mill combines hammer grinding and pneumatic conveying in one body. The rotor carries both the grinding hammers and the blower vanes, so material passing the screen goes straight into a pressurised air stream and on to the next station.

This arrangement removes the need for a separate fan, rotary feeder and screw conveyor, and lowers both investment and running cost in small and medium feed and grain plants.

Conveying distance, hammer count, capacity and motor rating are given in the model table. Screens and hammers are changed through a hinged cover.

How it works

Working principle

Grinding turns cleaned, conditioned grain into flour, semolina and bran in several passes through roller mills and plansifters.

  1. 1A feed roll meters the stock into an even curtain across the full roll length.
  2. 2Two counter-rotating fluted rolls, one faster than the other, shear and crush the grain in the nip; pneumatic engagement lifts the rolls apart when the feed stops.
  3. 3The ground stock falls to the outlet and is conveyed to the plansifter, which separates it into fractions for the next pass.
