The hammer mill grinds grain and feed ingredients with swinging hammers against a screen, with fineness set by the screen aperture.

The hammer mill works by impact from free-swinging hammers on a high-speed rotor. Product is broken between the hammers and the grinding chamber, and particles fine enough pass through the screen apertures and leave the machine.

Fineness is set simply by changing the screen, so one machine covers everything from coarse cracking to fine grinding. Hammers can be turned so that all four corners are used.

Capacity, hammer count and motor rating are given in the model table. The housing cover opens so screens and hammers can be changed quickly.
